This series of images was taken in September 1997 at the Musee des Blindes, Saumur, France.
This wonderful museum houses a unique and extensive collection, many of the vehicles being sole survivors. Naturally it is strong on French vehicles, but other countries from all periods are also well represented. The town of Saumur remains to this day the training centre for the French Army Cavalry.

I’ve identified this vehicle as an Ausf G based on information in Walter Spielberger’s “Panther & Its Variants”, though any misidentification is purely down to me! The “blue shot” below is down to exposure problems (no pun intended) with the original negative – I haven’t been able to correct it. The image has been included because it still shows good detail (and I don’t have another image covering the same area – d’oh!).
